In 2008 I graduated at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. During my study I
developed a love/fondness for designing chairs. “For sitting you need a seat and
a back. As a designer you are totally free to create a new form around it!”
Many of my designs start with a volume which results in strong, powerful and often sculptural designs. I like to work with different kind of materials, but the choice for the right material has to emphasize the design.
I get my inspiration from geometrical forms and patterns. I like to see modern architecture. But also repetition and to enrich seemless worthless materials are interesting subjects to work with.
Since 2009 I have my own workplace and gallery in Fort Liebrug in Haarlemmerliede. From this inspirational place I am developing my own line in furniture.
